I know it's a waste, but fk it.

They have stloads of policies I agree with and I'd like to share a beer with that Farage bloke. That's good enough for me.

The system is broken and I know it's effectively a 'waste' as they won't win our seat, but hey no vote is a waste, right?

So balls to it, they have my vote. Cameron, alas, is not doing enough for me.

Anyone with me?

Not this time around - for the good of the country we need to get rid of Labour (hopefully enough so they fall to third) .

Very nearly. Still can't decide.

It is a wasted vote which might, somehow, come back to haunt me if in some way it benefits Winky.

Farage is a bit of a marmite personality - I for one certainly share your enthusiasm for sharing a beer with him though. And UKIP's policies clearly show how they could immediately save the UK £60bn a year - by getting the fk out of the EU.

I didn't think they were standing in my constituency but found out today they are. So yes, whilst it may be a "wasted" vote hopefully enough people will vote the same way and the conservatives will realise why they lost and will be a lot stronger next time.

It's a shame that this county is going down the pan but until we get a party in power that will bring about real change then that will continue to be the case whatever colour tie they wear.

I agree with the OP and I'm overwhelmed by the the number of UKIP policies that I agree with and very disappointed by the number of Tory policies I disagree with.

You've actually considered what policies you want and are voting accordingly....if only the entire electorate a) voted and b) showed a similar attitude then maybe our political system would be in a better shape...

If the local elections are on the same day, why not vote UKIP at local level and Conservative at national level.
That is an option for me certainly. Just can't risk that sweaty, one-eyed vacuum of personality to win and take the country down his (partial) 'vision' of A Future Fair For All (parasites). mad

Are UKIP going to pull my council out of the EU? hehe

Just checked to see if/who my UKIP candidate is.

There is a rather ill-advised 'view counter' on his page. Apparently I was the 320 somethingth person to view his profile.

ETA. Wasted vote?

And how much would it cost in lost revenue from our trading partners in the single market?

They are undoubtedly going to split the Tory vote, which is a bad thing if we want Winky out, but if your convictions tell you to vote for them......

Personally I still think they are a one trick pony with elements of 'The BNP in blazers' about them. I'm not convinced. I find it hillarious that yesterday I saw an ageing Mercedes flying a union flag and bedecked in UKIP yellow and purple. Perhaps it's just me, but you would have thought they would have wheeled out a Rover 75 rather than a car with a swastika on the grille.

Not quiet as wasted as a vote for the Tories IMO. (never voted anything but blue in the past)

UKIP policies might sound good but the figures don't add up. If they carried out their policy of slashing 30-40% of all government budgets they would immediately make approximately 1.5million people unemployed.

Plus for a party wanting out of Europe their cosying up to the Italian Lega Nord party (who have had xenophobic report controversies about them and Nazi salutes from one of their members) is one for worry as well.

Stumbling over questions asked, no answers given to explain policy black holes - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00rvzd7/HARD...

And of course UKIPs leader Lord Pearson is a major house flipper in the expenses scandal.

Pretty certain you will find that for manufactured goods we're a net importer and, for other stuff, since we're not in the Euro (only the EU) I can;t see why it would matter much anyway.

I live in a tory safe seat - has been since 1945 apparently! If we get a ukip person to vote for he's getting my vote as I don't like how the tories still believe in MMGW and the need for road charging. My theory is that by increasing the number of ukip votes the tories might start to pay attention and react accordingly.

Yes a beer with Nick Farage would be on my list!

I was hoping someone was going to start a "Let's REALLY make a change and Vote Lib-Dem" thread.

I think that would be a real kick in the ass for Westminster and might even be an Internet Power possibility?? Perhaps someone on Face Book will start one?

The real reason to vote for them is Proportional Representation!

Then ALL OUR VOTES WILL BE COUNTED!

I hope the Conservatives win. I would urge people to vote Conservative.
I live in a safe seat (conservative) and I'm probably going to vote UKIP.

Both MMGW and road pricing are high up the EU list of priorities. This is why there is no difference between blue and red

Our local Tory MP (majority 455) visited last week and I informed him I'm a traditional Tory voter but I'd be voting UKIP this time.

He nodded understandingly and it seemed like he had heard this a lot.

AFAIK - and this gleaned from an 'intersting' Italian business contact (looked like a Mafia boss, drove an Audi RS2, like a loony) about ten years back - the principle issue of LN is to stop the wealthy (productive?) Northern Italians having to subsidise the poor (lazy?) southerners. Which sounds a bit selfish, but then you have to remeber that Italy as we know it is quite a young country.
