Happens a lot. My friend used to work in Selly Oak hospital as a theatre porter. They once had a bloke in who'd tried to cut some copper wiring off a substation transformer using a kitchen knife. Looked like a human pretzel apparently.

I've seen a JCB cut through a mains cable for one half of Torquay.

The power of electricity is not something to be underestimated.

You see massive winders, huge motors, electric trains and it doesn't really hit home. The resulting explosion from the earthed cable was awesome.
