Is the Grantura mk2/a diff the same as an 1800s diff?

No, but the 1800 is the same as the Griffith 200 (US version)
Mounting points are very different.

1800S is same as MK3

Info again William, did any of the 1800S's end up with the Triumph unit fitted as in the Vixen S1.

Here is a shot of the Griffith 200 (US), 1800S, Mk 3 type diff next to a 1965 Corvette diff. The vette diff was a factory (US) retrofit prior to settling on the Jag unit.

I am not 100% sure, but my investigations say that the 1800MGB swap to the 1600 Ford engine went together with the diff swap from TVR/MG alloy casting to Triumph diff.
Lilley can tell !!!! The reason for this was......money !!!
It was a lot cheaper to build the Vixen S1
