Hi,

I run a business with a seasonal cash flow. Occasionally, things get tighter than we plan, and we could use discounting, but only for a few weeks at a time, and possibly only for a couple of invoices. I've been involved with businesses in the past that have become beholden to factoring, and would be reluctant to suggest that as a solution.

Is there anyone offering single invoice discounting, or short-term discounting? Any experiences or advice anyone can offer would be great.

we're about to go invoice discounting, its not perfect by any means but it does seem to be the way most banks want to go and it does have some very good upsides if you have some large customers that take a while to pay and generally low bad debts

God please no don't do it!

Seriously it will cost you huge amounts in fees and tie you in for a set period of time.

For sme's its costs are prohibitive and can cause some companies to put themselves in a worse position than they originally were in.

Please look at other alternatives, perhaps a fixed agreed overdraft with your bank but not factor!

If you have no choice seek proper financial help and adhere to it.

Good Luck Dave.

We offer a selective single invoice discounting service. You can chose which invoices you want to sell and the facility is arranged on the credit worthiness of your business customer. There is a £250 + VAT fee to set up the facility and then charges start at 4% of the invoice value and vary on how long the debt is outstanding. This is a cost effective way of using your receivables to fund growth. You do not have to commit to a minimum volume and you can use it seasonally to help you over periodic shortages of cash. For more information see www.cash101.co.uk or call 020 3295 1007 0800 028 6585

Hi Andrew,

We also offer a Single Invoice Discounting product for releasing cash locked in invoices.

Tandem Invoice Finance Limited is distinctive in offering an Invoice Discounting facility for single invoices for a single fee without any ongoing commitment to continue using our services. This service offers a solution which all companies can tailor to suit their own business finance needs.

The day you raise an invoice Tandem can release up to 100% of its value less our fee. The flexibility of this product allows companies to effectively keep our service in their back pocket, only providing a working capital injection when needed most.

Invoice discounting is different to factoring in that Tandem does not come between our clients and their customers, nor chase any debt on their behalf. Your company will remain in control of your own accounts receivable and the goodwill relationships you’ve built with your customers.

Our charging structure is simple. We do not charge annual administration fees, nor do we have minimum monthly fees. Aside from a one-time account setup fee, we charge one fee for one invoice.

To find out more about this service and to read testimonials from existing clients, please visit our website tandemuk.com (follow the link in my profile) or contact Malcolm Piper on 0845 6188515, malcolmpiper@tandemuk.com
