Depends if you value your trousers / legs or not.

Having said that, a housemate used to take her rabbit (giant floppy eared monster imaginatively named thumper rolleyes ) for a walk on a lead... Maybe I'll start a poll.

I voted no, just putting a collar on mine risks me losing eyeballs and serious injury :-)

But you can't take a dog shopping, (unless it's one of them helping dogs) but a cat, there's nothing on the signs saying "no cats allowed!" wink

+1, nothing wrong with it and other countries its fine to do. If you train the cat from a young age then think it will be fine with it.

But UK culture dictates you will get aggo. If you are going to do it, wouldn't advise built up areas.

Used to work with a bloke who regularly took the cats for walks (on leads) with his wife.

Get this...

His wife also used to take the cats out on her own, in a ....pet stroller...

Google that badboy... rofl

If it were a young cat new to the area then possibly acceptable.
I used to walk up to the paper shop on a Sunday morning (to get the ST because wifey like to read it) and our cat would walk with me.
Well 'with me' loosely meant as she would walk/run through every garden as I walked up the footpath.
I would have to keep my eye on her as she got constantly distracted and it was a fair walk of about half a mile and quite brave of her as there were a few dogs and other cats about.

One of our regular guests (who always brings her cat)takes it for cliff walks on the lead (she reckons because it's deaf). No problem to me, but it does look slightly odd when you see them

You realise if you do, said cat will now be plotting your demise in the most painful way possible

There's a rather odd bloke in Aberystwyth who walks around town with his cat on his shoulder - not on a lead, though - I imagine he concluded that might be a little crazy.

I have eight retractable cat leads (in brown) if anyone wants one.

(no seriously I do)

To be fair the cat wouldn't get out otherwise as it lives on a busy road.

I once saw a massive camp looking bloke walking a rabbit on a lead. No-one batted an eyelid. It was in Haarlem though so he was probably fairly normal.
