Adhesive options for grills

The factory supplies the Wurth stuff. Was wondering what other builders have used instead if anything.

I glassed in the big grills (front stainless, side inlets and the big rear grill). The mountings are pretty rigid so the stiffness of the mounting should be too much of an issue. I'll find out soon.

Had to be fairly organised to do this as access to the grills is quite hard once the side panels are on the car. Fitting the grills earlier doesn't seem to make fitting oil coolers and the like harder.

Errr... unless you've got aircon. The oil cooler rad goes in but I've no idea how you managed to get the aircon rad in with the side grill in place???

I don't have aircon! I knew that was a good idea...

That's a good point though....but what do you do if you need to do any work on the aircon on a finished car? Do you have to take the grill out?

I have been using the factory stuff, but since I was ordering some things from www.mcmaster.com anyway I picked up a tube of Polyurethane Adhesive/Sealant. Won't know how it works until I try it.

You might want to consider bolting in the front grills

I think I've used about 3 different makes now.
They are all Polyurethane Adhesive/Sealant and work fine. Find it in almost all motor factors or car paint suppliers.
Whilst it would be nice to keep weight down (blaa blaa blaa) you do not want to scrimp on the amount you use to hold the grills in. Ask me how I know.
