Pulsar GTi-R vs Impreza Turbo
Discussion
Anyone give me a good idea of which would make the better track car?
What 4wd system does the GTi-R have? Is it a haldex type or the fully mechanical type like in the Scooby?
Cheers

Oh yeah.. Will blue LEDs in the washer jets improve the performance of these cars? I heard it does..

On a recent track day my 1993 M5 was substantialy faster than both scooby's and GT-IR's, it will cope with 5 track days a year without any signs of stress, apart from very badly scrubbed front tyres. I have to confess that this is at castle coombe which is a very fast circuit, i'm not so sure how it would compete on a much tighter circuit. It does suffer from boring understeer unless provoked by a heavy throttle

Again, it depends on driver as I has seen a 106 rallye beat a Scooby round bentwaters!
I suppose a tighter course will test the nimbleness of a 4wd to a rwd monster like the M5, I understand these cars have awsome handling but compared to two rally bred cars...not sure.
If you want a real track day car, and you want a rally type, you want an integrale. No girly understeer, loads of torque, and proper brakes, I had a modded GTIR and though the performance was very good, the brakes were very bad, and FWD bias 4WD is not much fun. From the 2 you said I would say a GTIR, much quicker. Both need mods to make a decent track car, might as well mod the quickest and cheapest

And if you want a CHEAP track day car, get a 2.8 Capri. I've seen a few on track days with a roll cage stuck it and some decent pads and discs, and the guy was having a wail of a time... powersliding it all over the place.
In comparison, it was embarassing to watch some owners of performance cars tootling round as they didn't want to damage the tyres or brakes...
