chin spoiler or not
Discussion
Hi, I had the same dilema last year as the chin spoiler was missing on my Griff.
Having replaced it, I have noticed the water temp is consistently lower than before, perhaps even too low.
It sits leaning on a forward plane and you should be able to see the holes where it was previously located. It seems to improve straight line stability a little bit too.

This is mine on my Griff.
I put it further forward than it was originally, as the original one had been ripped off at some point and damaged the screw holes.
It does seem to drop the water temp down by maybe 5 degrees when moving. If you're stuck stationary in traffic, with no air flow the temp will still head hotter and it's up to the fans to limit it then. I've taken mine off for now, as it occasionally hit the road over a speed bump -and I'm not having temp issues yet (still too cold).
IMHO it makes no difference to the high speed handling.

Thankfully few sleeping plod on track.

I bought the Fibreon splitter at last year's Growl. Click.
Noticed no difference to water temperature (mine's always been pretty steady at 90°C anyway) but maybe an improvement to stability at higher speeds - maybe just my imagination though. Struggle with sleeping policemen and many slopes though, especially on the chippings in town - as the exhausts catch when I go in forwards I used to reverse, now the splitter means I can't even do that.

steve that is nice and subtle - does it help reduce understeer and if so waht speed does it start to work?
I fitted it initially to stop the “floaty“ feeling when changing direction at 95 ish mph and above. I was also hoping it may reduce drag a bit. It seemed to do both. The front is a lot more planted but not until you get beyond 80 - 85. It has slightly improved straight line speed, presumably by allowing less air to tangle up with the lumpy bits under the car. I took the swan neck bits out of the exhaust at the same time so they come straight back. The standard system is rubbish in aero terms. There is a downside however. I had to fit a boot lip spoiler to balance things up. Instead of the front floating about at speed the rear was trying to get in front. I am talking finish line at Gurston here where I seem to remember you causing the marshals to run away just after the little 100mph left rightI won a splitter at last years Growl in the charity auction....... it's still in my boot.
I don't have an issue with heating, and ever since I had the car geo set-up the car is planted even at 140 mph... so I figured it would probably just get in the way or cause damage.
Thinking about I've a growing collection of TVR items I win in charity auctions and never use. Got a book on Griffs/Chims servicing (Growl 2 years ago) and an AJP crank case clock which still has neever been used (London Thunder)..... must sit on my hands in futre, well except for booze

-I'll take the Splitter off your hands for some beer tokens if you're not using it.I don't have an issue with heating, and ever since I had the car geo set-up the car is planted even at 140 mph... so I figured it would probably just get in the way or cause damage.

steve thanks- i think i will try something but not sure how far to go with it - i have sg tyres on the front and gg on the rear so already have more front end grip to try and beat the understeer - so a bit of trial and error i think.
that gurston finish is a proper buttock clenching place with 2 wheels on the grass at 110 - never lift until after the finish is my motto! don't know if you were there but paul in his T350 very nearly got my hill record on sunday - he was in the 35's and only 0.2sec off it!

Yes it was obvious he was going to be quick when the hollow speed trap showed 92mph in first practice, although he did comment that he was “gathering himself up” just after hollow bend. Noticed he had some fairly trick looking aero bits on the car which I guess are not standard. Was pleased to see him in the 35s although just outside by best which is 35.90 Couldn’t match him on the day though, I forgot to bring the brave pills and was lifting well before the finish.
