Business Legal Requirements and Resposibilites

Hi,


Not sure where to start with this one. Basically my brother has started a business which is doing quite well and growing, but he has a very laissez fair attitude to legal documentation and I suppose safety aspects, as the job involves light construction (building temporary shelters) and driving duties.

Basically does anyone have ideas where I can find out information on:

Employment terms, basic contracts
Health and safety requirements, training etc
Legal disclaimers for emails/invoices/quotes etc.

He's a very trusting, hard working, 'That'll be alright' kind of chap, and I'd hate for him to be in a sticky situation due to incorrect paper-work/training or leaving himself open to litigation.

It's a great website, tonnes of info on there. If they don't have what you need then they normally link to the appropriate govt site for it.

Or look around for an external HR company, that can produce your employee handbook, ensure the paperwork exists etc. these for example it depends on if your brother can justify doing it himself or wants someone to put the structures in place.
