Charging for use of a photo...
Discussion
Hi all
A graphic designer has found a picture of mine on Flickr, which he wishes to use in a poster he is designing for a large multinational power firm. The poster is for use internally at a particular plant for a period of three months.
He's asking me what I'd charge - I've never sold a photo before and have absolutely no idea. I can find only hourly or daily rates on Google, rather than charges for use of a particular photo. I don't want to name a figure too extreme in either direction, more for fear of looking stupid than anything else!
Thanks for any advice
Nick

Thanks for the replies. I gave them a fairly optimistic quote, they came back and said they'd pay me what they paid for the other photos in the campaign, which was 100 euros. I said yes; I wasn't even looking to sell so it's a bonus anyway. Oh, and I get my name credited on the poster. I'll be famous(ish)!
