...... that they want to donate for a charity banger rally?

Myself and Rach* are entering the Scally Mille Miglia at the end of June and have picked up an E36 325i as our chariot of choice.

What I think it needs though is a massive Barry Boy style rear wing, something really crap like this:

Or even this:

I would buy one but... you know.... I ca't bring myself to exchange money for something like that.

Any donations welcome and you can have it back after the rally if you like.

Make one! Use a pair of the brackets you use for shelves or hanging baskets and a piece of plywood or a floorboard!

Indeed, I've taken the spoiler now and fitted it onto my Golf. All I have to do now is paint a wavey Union Jack on the back and write British Airways down the side and I'm ready to go!

(EDIT : I'm sure it's still there. smile)

That Escort one (AFAIK) is (or is a replica of) a real rally part.

A friend used to have one, and it had the Ford mouldings on the underside.

Never ever "myself" in that context. Sorry, I just couldn't let it lie.

I believe you are correct, looks similar to the ones fitted to the Repsol Escort WRCs

We'll take it!

I'll give you £300 for the whole car if you dont want to let the wing go seperatly.

If you know a dealer or anybody working in a scrappy, ask them to ply one off a scrappage car that hasn't been diced yet - or just go down to your local scrappy and see if you can pinch one. I'm sure you'll find some chavved up 3 series with an enormous spoiler.

Alternatively pay some of the local workshy's a tenner and a pack of Mayfair's finest to go and "find" one for you.

I can't speak for the other people who commented, but I wasn't having a go about the Focus RS in particular, I love them, just the fact that he'd parked in a bus stop to take a photo.

Nice observation skills! You sir clearly are very good at noticing things! But wait... are you also very good at reading??? if so.. read this...

There isn't a bus there.. There wasn't a bus due for a few hours... It's a nice location... Church backing on to the bus stop from the other side, old mangly trees... I'm sure you can conjour up a pretty vivid idea of the location in your head... It takes 30 seconds to take a picture.. Whereas your feeble mind clearly can't take the fact that i stopped in an EMPTY bus stop that was to REMAIN EMPTY until a few hours later to take a rather nice picture and jam up the EMPTY BUS STOP for 30 seconds..

Chopper

Would you rather i parked in a very dangerous position on the end of the bend that leads to that bus stop? On the main road? Causing chaos and no doubt an accident? It's not like i pulled in, infront of a bus and caused it to veer dangerously near to the embankment with a cargo of 'weak at the knees, touch me and my bladder lets go, old biddies'. If you have nothing better to do other than troll Pistonheads trying to 'have a go' for 'minor offences' then may i suggest you register on one of those rather boring 'motorway social police' websites that allows you to write up "Number plate SE12ASD overtook me at the national speed limit then cut infront of me, as i was doing 40 in the middle lane"...

If you feel you require then need to comment back on this, be aware, i neither care about your response nor will i be checking back for one..

Nice to see a little attempt at humour at your own cars ridiculous spoiler is immediately torn apart by a banger...

OP, sorry £300 is a little off what i was thinking smile But in all seriousness, why not just buy a cheap saxo from a dealer/chav/scrappys and bolt on a halfords spoiler?!

Plus the benefit of the spoiler is not only additional downforce over the rear wheels, but that it immediately adds 10bhp and oodles of street cred to the car! I'll keep a look out for a banger and if one fits the description i'll post it for you to peruse!
