Not normally known for their size, this Hammerhead shark caused quite a suprise for the fishermen who caught it.

Apparently, they caught a smaller shark and were reeling it in, when this bad boy swam up and ate the smaller one.

I wonder if he seized upon the once in a lifetime opportunity to make that iconic quote?

" we need a bigger boat"

With Hammerheads being one of the rarer species of shark left, your statement is even more relavent.

Would you let it go?

"we caught a 2.6ton Hamerhead shark today!"

"no you didn't"

"YES WE DID!"

"Prove it then"

"ummmm.... well.... ummm..... we let it go"

"yeah right, you liar"

My personal view is that shark fishing should be banned as they are fast heading towards extinction thanks to the arrogance and ignorance of human beings.

150,000,000...yes that's 150,000,000 sharks are caught and killed, mainly for their fins, each year!

I do feel for the sharks, but it does make me wonder how many fish would have been eaten by these 150 million sharks. Ten each a day perhaps? That would be 547,500,000,000 more fish for us humans!

Do we really need these predators keeping our fish stocks down?

I think it's a real shame something so unique has once again been killed. It is incredible and should have been left alone IMHO.

Yes... yes we do. Destroying the top predator in a ecosystem isn't a good idea. Ever.

FFS I despair.

Just how long has that shark lived for to get to that size?

No need frown
