Anyone in the pre-cast concrete floor business?
Discussion
I'm invlved with a company that designs and manufactures bespoke granite street furniture, including benches and seating.
We often get asked what the maximum weight is that can be taken on the bench and can normally dodge the question by saying it is a natural material and no two will be the same.
However, it would be nice to have one load tested to distruction - but I cant find anywhere that can do large items (1.5m x 0.5m) that are made of stone.
This morning I passed a lorry load of pre-cast concrete floor panels and thought "they must be load tested"
Anyone...........??

It shouldn't be too much of a problem for any company that loads tests to be able to do.
I have done some work for a lifting company and they have to weight test metal beams and concrete beams. I can't see it being that much harder for a material.
However I don't know what the regulations are, so this is just a suggestion for you to look into.

The Meadow Road campus itself has now been demolished to destruction - so not sure it's still there.I've used Testconsult in the past, based in Warrington - google them. Speak to Simon or Mark. Edit - http://www.testconsult.co.uk/
Also, for materials - i've used a company called Ruthin Precast - RPC, that do specialist concrete structures/items - they may be able to help.
