As the title suggests...can anybody recommend me a good pair of running trainers? not fasion stuff, the proper job, budget would be up to £100 (ideally less). Im at the start of the application process to join the army and so running is about to become a big part of my life...

Thanks in advance!

A good running shoe vendor will ask you the proper questions and evaluate your running style advising which shoe best suits you.

As above go to a specilasit store and get them to look at your type and style of running - if you have old running shoes take them along so they can see the wear pattern on them

if you are planning any pack running them think carefully about the impact down and aviod faster road shoes

What feels good in the shop might not work on the road so be aware that it may come that you have to change a feel times - i found that adidas gives me shin splints but no bother with Asics

Are you an overpronater? If you don't know the answer to that you're best off down to a local running shop.

Only yesterday I went to a running shop and recieved video gait analysis. The difference between my gait in a nuetral shoe and a support shoe was unbelievable. I strongly recommend the service. Ok the shoes they sold me were £20 more than if I'd bought them on the internet but how would I have known which shoes to buy to suit my gait? Also, the shop I used offered me the chance to return the trainers if they're uncomfortable after a long run on a treadmill. For me, £20 on gait analysis and a returns policy is well worth it.
