Hi all, I recently bought an e36 BMW 328 sport and discovered it is leaking oil.
The thing is it doesnt drip out overnight but only does it when the car is revved quite hard. It is coming from somewhere near the top of the engine. This then drips onto the manifold and causes some smoke. It isnt a lot of oil but is still not a good sign.
The car has recently had a new rocker cover gasket before I bought it and was wondering if it could be this or somewhere else nearby.

Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Id say that checking the fitment of the gaskets should be your 1st point of call smile

Thanks for the reply.

I was about to check around the gasket area and noticed 2 rubber bungs under the plastic cover, one had been put on using the wrong bolt and oil was leaking from around it, so sorted now smile
