C3 =427ci ,454ci or tweaked 350ci & 327ci

What in your opinion was the best motor to have in a C3 for reliability,performance,servicing and parts availibity.
What was the best engine for modifying,was the 427ci a better engine (as in reliability and power) than the 454ci.
