DECT Phone Recommendations?

I have an old Panasonic DECT handset at work. For some reason when people call it, it always rings three times (from their perspective) before it rings once for me. It means I miss a lot of calls (this is not necessarily a bad thing).

Anyway, if I replace it, is this the case on all DECT handsets or is it something peculiar to Panasonics?

If I connect a regular analogue wired phone it works as you'd expect so I don't think it's our PBX.
