Seeing as hundreds of tonnes of the stuff ISNT being released by aircraft soaring about overhead... will we be able to get C02 taxation refunds as currently man made C02 is at an all time low, and we will be way under our quota for the month.

The cloud will also cause some of the sun's rays to be reflected back into space, causing "global cooling."

Probably.

Doesn't a volcano's cloud contain a lot of CO2? How about a volcano tax? Or perhaps this CO2 tax idea is bullst because nature will beat us if it wants to.

That's what pollution from aircraft does - global temperatures rose after 9/11 because aircraft were grounded and the layer of fumes in the atmosphere reduced.
Suppose the volcano dust will just be evening out the lack of aircraft pollution smile

Not true unless you are talking about super-volcanoes, global average CO2 emissions from all volcanic sources(volcanoes, plate boundaries, plumes etc) are estimated to be 200 million tons per year which is only 2.5% of estimated total human emissions from farming and fossil fuel burning.( from p 216 "The Cretaceous World" Peter Skelton et al., Cambridge University Press)

Perhaps we could charge Iceland for it, get back some of that money they lost for us. Or at least a couple of £1.00 chicken kievs.

Actually volcanic eruptions release sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere where, rather than causing acid rain like it does in the troposphere, it does an extremely good job of global cooling. When Mount Pinatubo erupted in 1991 the average global temperature noticably cooled. Proponents of geoengineering suggest that releasing a relatively small amount of sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere with pumping stations, very high smokestacks from coal fired power stations or even jet fuel with additives to release more of the gas from airliners may offset negative climate change very effectively for almost no real cost (either monetary or socially).

Some very interesting reading in Wired: Can a Million Tons of Sulfur Dioxide Combat Climate Change? and also in Superfreakonomics.

Can you imagine the hand wringing that would be going on if we had 'done' this? I quite like the way that mother nature can just crop up from time to time with this sort of thing, and make a mockery of our self obsession with our incredibly slow paced and negligible harm to the environment.

East of Java anyone?

I read that the effect was that daytime temps were up, but nights were cooler as the fumes also trap the heat that was here, just like the evenings are muggy when the sky clouds over.
