Selling my '06 MX5 on the classifieds here has elicited in the last three days two attempts at a scam. Beware of e mails from 'Mark James' and 'Lisa' who do a deal by e mail and attempt to get your personal bank details etc off you so they can transfer funds and collect the car. Followed one of these requests through, in conjunction with my bank, this morning and it turns out its a variation on the theme of sending through a larger sum to include shipping and then asking for you to transfer the shipping money via Western Union before the full funds are released.

Are there any genuine buyers out there, please?

Ah, good point, will do so. Did report it to the relevant bank and police though.
