...to break the law in a BIG way.

*Go and Hoon the M1 at 150+mph!
*Hold up a Jewellers!
*Rob a Bank!

Because with the Police helicopters and planes grounded by the Icelandic Volcano all they could do is chase you, and thanks to the Health and Safety Hand-wringers they can't risk high-speed pursuits in cars anymore biggrin

Planes or helicopters without turbine engines should be OK, (AFAIK).

I think it's more the height they fly at. Police Helicopters, single engined aircraft etc will generally be flying lower, so will not be effected.

I dunno... The dust is getting pretty low. Back at my mothers house in Halifax there is a coating of dust over everything.

The police helicopters near me are grounded, i've seen them with my own eyes, sat on the tarmac, going nowhere. I then saw a SL500 taking full advantage of this, doing 100mph+ past the airfield and grounded helicopters laugh

My current 'fleet' consists of a

  • 1964 4-door 1275 Morris Minor
and a
  • 2002 4-door Fiat Punto 1.2 Active

150mph in either would guarantee my place in the history books, slightly below WW2 but just above 'The Great Fire Of London" hehe

Anything Civie will be grounded, that is police helicopters as well, unless they have sand filters..which they wont. SAR and anything else rotary and military will be flying..

According to the Daily Mail's headline this morning, this volcanic dust is deadly and we shouldn't go outside. If you really must venture out, wear a face-mask.

There should be some left over from the SARS/Swine Flu/Bird Flu stocks.
