of why I have my tainted view of BMW drivers.

I was following a couple of BMWs (318 and M3) on my motorbike, 318 bumps up the kerb and stops, no indicator, no warning. M3 driver slams on brakes, then pulls along side the 318 and shouts abuse, which was cut short by a noisy biker revving his bike. M3 sets off around the next bend then stops, with no indicator, no warning and begins to reverse into a parking space almost hitting me.

All caught on bike cam smile

When I started driving it use to be Volvo's, then Audi's but BMW drivers are becoming just as bad.

I'm sure most BMW drivers are good, so please stop selling them to dick heads.

You're on a bike. You should not have trusted cage drivers to have seen (or care about) you (what ever the brand). wink

I'm pessimistic, which is why at 39.25 my only accident was caused by mechanical failure (well one jubilee clip I forgot to tighten).

The thing that amused me on this occasion is one BMW driver being really agitated at another BMW driver, then he goes and does the same thing.

But what incident had occured before the one that you had witnessed?. I suspect the issue between the two BMW's wasn't anything to do with the lack of indication when pulling over, My money is on the 318 performing a dangerous overtake somewhere in order to get ahead of the M3 which pissed the M3 driver off. Chances are he was still fuming when he stopped in front of you with no indication. (Pure conjecture on MY part of course! smile )

Naturally being a sensible rider you left enough safety space between yourself and the M3 to be able to react to anything out of the ordinary happening. wink

As for not selling BMW's to "d**k h**ds", how do you propose to define who is a "d**k h**d" and who is not at the point of sale of a car?. It should also be noted that there are plenty of d**k h**ds driving badly in Corsa's, saxo's, Audi's, Golf GTI's, TDI's etc., etc.

It's not just cars either, Friday evening whilst driving home I watched a guy on a Suzuki GSX overtake 5 cars by crossing double solid white lines with cars coming the other way were forced to move over the left to avoid hitting him!. eek

At the end of the day there are good and bad drivers in/on all manner of vehicles!.

Indeed.

There are lots of BMWs on the road, you're bound to have a share of bad drivers driving them.

Last year from my bike cam I have lots of examples of bad driving by Audi's and one post office van. Year before that it was white vans. It looks like its going to be BMW year. Even in my pickup today I narrowly avoided one pulling out from a side street and only looking left.
