Oil Pressure Switch Question
Discussion
Guys I actually have a V8S but I thought there would be plenty of pre serp knowledge here.
I'm reassembling my engine and the oil pressure switch had loads of PTFE tape on it. I've removed that but now the switch is a really sloppy fit in the oil pump base, this isn't right is it?
Has someone used the wrong thread switch? I assume it should be a taper thread that only goes part way in but it screws in all the way to the switch, and even then I'm sure if I tightened it up tight it may over turn due to the slop in the thread.

I'd be thinking the same. Should only need a wind or two of Plastic Tape For Engineers to effect a good seal.I'm reassembling my engine and the oil pressure switch had loads of PTFE tape on it. I've removed that but now the switch is a really sloppy fit in the oil pump base, this isn't right is it?
