Anyone got a spare?

I am after one of the little metal clips for the end of the throttle cable that holds the plastic end piece onto the "ball" of the throttle assembly arm.

Anyone got one spare?

Did have until this evening when it "twanged" off across the garage floor so spare now in use !

I'll get the car out the garage tomorrow evening see if I can find it. Failing that they are (were last year) still available from Ford

Thanks Mike, will get to Ford garage next weekend and pick up a couple if still available. Working away from home it is difficult to get to Ford dealership near work.

Wouldn't want to take your only spare, was hoping someone might have had a few from stripping cars (I think there are 3 on each throttle assembly (assuming the cable clip and the two on the plastic piece joining the throttle assembly together are the same)

Not always there if either the throttle cable has been modified or the plastic bits melted by a fire

Hi Mark, while you're there could you ask if the plastic clip that holds throttle cable onto the bracket at engine end is still available please ?
Don't actually need one but looks like its the sort of thing that could brake the next time I touch it !

I take it you mean the securing clip around the threaded section. If so I'll ask and try to get part number

I've got the old one I took off when I put the new cable on in my toolbox I think. Can pop it in the post if you need it?

Appreciate the offer Doug, but don't actually need one, just thought would be handy to have a spare. its the sort of thing I can imagine flicking off across the garage and "dissappearing" or snapping in two, and always on a Saturday afternoon when everywhere's shut and I'm trying to get car sorted for a run on Sunday !

Ford still stock both as they are used on many cars under same part number

Metal Clip - Part No. 6175872 - 54 pence each

Plastic Clip - Part No. 6142979 - about £1.20 each (I looked over his shoulder so price approx as not sure if I got the vat inc or exc price) - my dealer had 14 in stock

It also looks as tough you can purchase straight throttle plates too. They certainly have a part number as a single component so must have been made and I can't believe many were sold as spares. Didn't ask him the question as I thought he'd spent enough time with me trawling the isometric for £1.62 (I bought 2 spares)
