Some of you probably don't even know, but Avril got stuck in France due to the flight issues, already on Friday there was no way she was getting back before Monday by train or pretty much any other choice.

So, being a PHer I said I'd pop over and pick her up. driving

Being PH at least a few people jokingly said 'I'll join you'. However Nigel was actually serious so we had our own little trip to Reims at less than 12 hours notice to try and find Avril.

There are more pics to follow, but Nigel you are a star and what a top laugh even if I'm now knackered.

Yep it's bloody great, wasn't sure a 600+ mile round trip was the best idea with warped discs silly but as it wasn't getting any worse I figured I just wouldn't use the brakes...

I'll add to this thread some other pics once I've had some sleep, but I can't believe the trip computer is saying 29.1mpg average for that trip, lucky it was with petrol being €1.50 a litre.

Ah, but what Ben failed to tell you is that he stayed over there on Saturday night, I, like an idiot turned around after having one beer and drove straight back to Windsor smile 629 mile round trip at 14.7 mpg frown

But I did get chance to Vmax the old beast once or twice, picked up three stranded people who funnily enough lived near Newbury and dropped them at Heathrow to pick up their car...

A massive thank you to Ben who is an absolute angel And thanks to Nigel for keeping him company.

The weather was lovely so it could have been a lot worse. It actually turned into a brilliant weekend, once the issue of navigating through excessively busy French railway stations had removed itself from my life.

So...yeah. Hoonage a la francais and a tour of the champagne plants later in the year, anyone? smile

Did Eurotunnel, booked it at 2200 on Friday for 0745 on Saturday....no problems at all (apart from being over £200)
