When out and about I generally get a wave from drivers of the following make of cars, obviously when driving the same model

Land Rover-Defenders only
TR6
Jaguar-E Types only
TVR- any model

Does this camaraderie exist between others?

When I see another Pride driver we look away with a knowing sense of shame, no one waves at us.

Oh, and a friend of mine who's had numerous 200SXs says that owners of other 200s (and 300ZXs) wave at him occasionally, which is pretty cool smile

Plenty of MX5 drivers wave! Also get a few from MGs and various other convertibles as well, especially when top down in less than perfect weather. wink

Other MX5s on a sliding scale of probability from -

Young man in Mk1 in wet with roof down > Middle aged woman in Mk3 with roof up ion sunny day.

The Mk1 seems also to have been accepted by a lot of the 'classic' drivers so old MG's, Triumph TR's etc tend to wave a lot aswell.

Classic MG owners wave at each other. Rarely did I get a wave from an MG F - more likely to get a wave from a triumph or similar.

Alfa Spider / GTV owners wave at each other, but only occasionally do I get one from a 156 / 147 / 166 - usually one of the more special ones.

The only thing I must fess up to regarding waving, I am that annoying bd who beeps and waves at people I don't know.

It works best outside supermarkets or shops when the victims hands are full of shopping. I know it's childish, but the amount of people who will drop all their shopping because they just have to wave back is astonishing!

You get as many wavers as you do miserable non wavers in MX5's tho - some people just think you're nuts, especially when you're looking at them odd for not having the top down.

Morris Minors + mini drivers tend to flash, waving is pretty standard in a Land Rover, unless it's a works vehicle who's drivers don't often wave.
I used to wave in the MX5 I remember the previous owner having to do something with the light circuit on the MX5 to get them to open then flash, as a quick pull on the light stalk would mean the lamps flashed when closed - then popped up.

I generally wave at anyone in a 205. Only had a couple of waves back though. I'm on the cutting edge of a revolution.
