I have a 2006 V8 Vantage and for some reason it does not seem to start sometimes, i have changed the Start Button in the dash aswell as the Starter Motor since then however am still having the same problem.

The car always starts in the morning however once i drive it, may be the 2nd or 3rd time i go to start it nothing happens. There is no noise or anything however the start button lights up red so i knw the cluth button is working fine. I have to wait around 15 mins or even upto a hour sometimes for it to start again.

Has any body else had similar problems?

cheers

I had an intermittent starting problem on my GT, turned out to be a loose connection on the battery cable to the starter.

Maybe be an idea to check all connections between the battery and starter, if one near the engine is loose it could become more so when heated.

This sounds like it could be a heat related issue if it only happens after it been driven.

Maybe you can try testing it at home, start it up and run for 2 minutes, then turn it off, restart and then run for 2 more minutes.

Do this until it exhibits the fault and take note of engine running time and temperate rise curve.

Then if you have the patience, wait for it to fully cool, maybe next day and repeat to see if it behaves the same or gives a different outcome.

Maybe there might be a faulty sensor that when warmed up it prevents the car starting.

Just ideas to try in the interim, I would still follow all other advice such as checking the tracker and other security options.

loose cables to the starter is usually only on the DB7 Vantage, it could be related to not picking up the transponder code from the key, being heat related possible poor earth fault high resistance in one of the battery cables including the battery isolator circuit, also relay 9 in the under bonnet fusebox, if you need specific checks please let me know
