Someone I know (not me!) dented a front wing on a car this morning, and needs to source a new one. It won't be claimed on insurance as the claim would be less than the excess. It's a Suzuki Swift GLS registered 2003.

Looking on ebay, parts are listed 1989 - 1996, then from 2005 ownwards ?? I guess it was only produced till 96, but it took till 2003 to find people who wanted to buy one!

Who know's a good supplier for a wing and side repeater please. Prefer new, but second hand if suitable condition.

Andy is going to paint it for us, and blend it into the rest of this horrible little car, once we have sourced the parts.

We may need to find a rental/ courtesy car as well for 2 days frown

That is what I was thinking, although a small spec change from 1996-2003 could mean it won't fit right. Robbie should know some swift mad experts hopefully.

I checked with Suzuki about compatibility between years. The ebay one will fit, as the only different was the indicator repeater lens colour. I have ordered it smile

Now to find the best deal on a budget rental for 2 days as a courtesy car!

Hi Fraser, sorry I'm not going to be much help here - never needed a replacement bodypart for the Swift and mine was the newer model. The only Swift Owners forum was really for the new shape cars frown

Unfortunately I don't think what Suzuki has told you is correct. I have a 1990 (mark 2) Swift and have just been outside to check the fitment against the front upper bumper and sidelight:

If you compare the 2, you can see on your later model that the indicator is a slightly different shape and the wing curves round to a vertical join with the front upper bumper. On mine, it's more of a straight but angled line.

In 1996/1997 they did change the front end slightly. Up until they changed it the indicators are in the front bumper and what I have is a sidelight. They then moved the indicator to the position which you have and as you can see, it's a slightly different shape.

Hope this makes sense and sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I'm happy to be proven wrong of course, but looking at the all the pics (including the ebay ad) I don't think it will fit.

Also just to add, I did a quick search on ebay which has brought up quite a few swifts which are being broken for spares:

A few in the same colour as well so should match near enough for a cheap repair!

Fraser could the wing be repaired, listening to your comments on the phone could it be heated and reshaped?

No, it's stretched and too badly damaged. I think I may have one from a wrecker for £60... waiting to hear about condition :fingerscrossed:
