aye, its a relationship thread. whilst i'm old & wise enough not to reveal the gory details, i'm looking for older wiser minds for help & info.

to that end, i'm wondering if anyone has any stories relating to breaking up with someone then trying [and hopefully succeeding] to win them back. preferably if you fked it up and with some details of what it was you did/said that you think helped.

on the other hand, i'd also be interested in hearing from those who have taken someone back, what your concerns were and how these were alleviated, and what the other half did/said which made the difference.

i'm not going to go into detail and didn't too anything overly terrible. i just made an error which caused a fairly young relationship to fail. i'd like to make a fresh go of things but am unsure of how to approach it and whether, if at all, it would even be a good idea to try.

I worked with a guy who was married three times and then had a forth marriage back to bride No.1.

So it is all possible, guess it depends how naughty you have been?

Ex's are ex's for a reason.....don't go back, even if it was you who got dumped.

Actually just seen the above post....I know someone who remarried their 1st wife after being separated for several years. But they split up quite soon after the 2nd wedding.

Don't eat the grass that you've already pissed on!

Move on. There's a reason why you broke up. It will come back to haunt you.

Only reason to go back, is to dump them on your terms................. something only don by the dumpee, as if you did the dumping in the first place, you probably wouldnt want to take them back

2 minutes - even for you that must be a record.

'Ex Sex' is some of the best sex going...

...but i woudnt want to pay for another long-stay ticket. It will cost you just as much as it did last time round.

I married someone I dated 12 years before hand.

Strange to begin with, but there have been no issues.

Never go back or accept back a previous partner - if it went wrong before, it will go wrong again. There are plenty of people to go around and there is no reason to go back - hell, you can even buy a bride these days!

if it was a minor error why did she dump you? this would be more of a concern to me, men will always makes small errors* so is she going to dump you every time - sod that.

  • which should be ok if we apologise and learn from them
PS what is the L word?

Best advice ever!

9/10 times it's best that they remain an ex no matter how much your mind plays those tricks on you!

I've been tempted, but never return to a relationship once it ended as they usually end for a genuine reason!

So what did you do? We need the details in order to assess whether you really were a tt, or whether she over-reacted.

It all has a bearing on whether you could / should try to get back with her.
