Hello,

I saw an SL 65 AMG yesterday, got taken out in it and was absolutely blown away by it.

It was a 2005 model and I am now seriously tempted.

I currently have an e90 m3 saloon and was wondering the ball park figures for these cars?

It appears that 2004/2005 cars at at about £45 - £50k but then as you get newer they get gradually more costly.

Also, any current owners want to give me any pointers and things to look for?

I have a buyer for my car, so it could be all systems go pretty soon.

Thanks

R

Hi Rags, I would start with full merc history'ed original car.
Ring the servicing agent check all is up to date.
Make sure it has a new MERC mot. Make sure everything works, hood, a/c, sat nav,
all functions of the seats, distronic, etc. Check front discs and pads [£2000].
Best extras are pan roof and keyless go, oddly extra when new.
Let us know how you go on.

Mark.

Thanks for the input.

Another question, is the 65 worth the extra over the 55?

WELL- 605bhp = 493bhp and a lot higher spec when new.
A small matter of £145000 = £95000ish.
0-150mph = 19sec or 0-150mph 24sec
Money-wise £10-15000????
Are you a petrol-head? if so its the 65.
Don't forget 605bhp is Not enough; see Kleemann and upgrade + derestrict and
join us at the next VMax.

Mark.

Never driven a 65, but own a 55.

To make a 55 'equivalent' to a 65 you likely need:

65 wheels £1200-£2500
LSD ~£3000
DMS ~£2500
Front bumper ~£1200
etc....

I think you catch my drift, and it'll all be worth nothing come resale on a 55.
