Nice try!
Do you want to keep them on permanently to quieten the car, or just for a specific track day? If the latter, you're welcome to borrow mine. First job will be to cut-off the old mild steel bolts and replace with stainless steel bolts. After that it's about a 30 min job to swop the tail-pipes with the rear clam removed. Probably take less time for someone who isn't a mechano-numpty.

Hi Rob, Ive already done the stainless bolt change a few months ago,and yes just want them for a few track days as at 107db I cant get on anywhere and don't want to get to 'ring/Spa and be refused although Spa is 107 limit just want a set that I can fit if its too loud !!

but too much for most track days !! although you probably are not near me long enough to hear it !!!!

Steve -you should be absolutely fine at Spa/'Ring - never,ever seen anyone noise tested there no matter how stupidly noisy the motor. Technically Spa has a 107dB limit and the 'Ring 105, but as I said, I've never come across noise-testing.

I was noise tested at the ring last time I was there !!
Said I could not understand why as it was only 95db but they did anyway and said I was lying (jokingly) as it was only 94.8 db !!
Maybe they picked on me because I was not too loud so it kept their pass figures in line and stopped the noise 'do-gooders' from complaining ?

Yes - absolutely fine when new (so long as you have the racing cats in situ). So no probs at most UK and EU circuits. However they do tend to lose some of the internal wadding and become noisier with age and hard use and if you want to get below 98dB you will need the 'quiet' tail-pipes.daddysumo said:

Ramble had his 3R with Roush pipes noise tested by the marshalls at the Ring entrance in 2008 and it passed okay. I don't think the limit has changed since then from what I've seen so far. The only additional noise testing that I am aware of this year is three track side mics for drive by noise monitoring.There is more information on noise limits and testing here - Click - this is the test they did on Ramble's 3R.

I was just a tad over at Donny 99 db(98db max) drive by with a standard engine so will struggle at a lot of UK circuits !
