Hi guys, anybody got any pics of the front wishbones/ shocks etc from one off the original 420 seac? I assume it is very different to the standard cars with a totally different shock configuration, I still fancy fitting coil overs, mainly because I hate the look of the cortanka stuff, Ive got the idea of coil overs in my head now, whether they are better or not I just fancy them, If you look back 4 or 5 years ago all the specialists seemed to be saying coil overs were the only way to go, now nobody seems to recommend them.
any pics would be great
thanks
Jon

Jon,

My 420 SEAC is in with the same resto shop as Henry's.

I will take photo's as soon as the body comes off.

Remind me in a week or two if you are still searching.

The spring / shock arrangement on the 420/450 SEAC is the same as all other 400se/450se models.

The std shock is not adjustable and the srping is fixed and not height adjustable.

What is adjustable is camber.

Ah was that the case with the original 420 seac from the mid 80s, I think they had different wishbones and allthe shock manufacturers that stock wedge parts state different shocks for this model only, GAZ say they are coil overs but are the same length as the standard ones, must have a strange type of mounting as they have eye at both ends.

They are exactly what I'm after, they look fantastic, Where did you get them from? and if you dont mind me asking were they expensive? Did you do the welding mods yourself, the top looks easy enough, but is the bottom wishbone heavily modded? the shock seems to mount well below the surface, think I might hae a go, just need to find out the open and closed lengths of the shocks now, any ideas?
sorry for so many questions, but im all excited now lol.
All the best and thanks for the great pics
