I'm running out of ideas and I'm getting tired of going back to Toyota. (The garage I have a warranty with is an hour, plus bloody M6 roadworks, up the road).

So far from ~48k -> 55k miles the following has been done to rectify a few issues.

New clutch
New rear disks / pads
New tensioner + belt
Developed a vibration and then noticed a wheel weight appeared to be missing
Wheel balancing (Kwik Fit, they potentially screwed up?)
Still vibrating.
Alignment checked (Bob on, no problems).
Still vibrating.
Starts pulling hard to the left under braking and a bang / scraping from passenger side rear on a trip out.
Bizarrely can't figure out where the bang came from. Drove home no problem (besides pulling issue and vibration).
New front disks / pads
Pulling problem solved, still vibrating and add a sporadic but frequent "clunk" from the drivers side rear. (Clunk not dependant on bumps it seems).

5k miles ago, trips were silky smooth. I'm not sure even the Ms can put up with it any more after four months though. Vibration is quite noticeable from 25mph+ which seems really low for a balancing issue and I'm not getting it through the steering wheel, but through the rest of the car. Pedals and seat we're feeling it through but the shoulder joint / bend for the seat belt is clearly rattling against the pillar with the vibration now making a bloody annoying squeak.

So, any ideas?

Buckled alloy wheel? Slow puncture?

Thanks for the ideas!

Rather sure it's not a slow puncture (I'm a bit OCD regarding tyre pressures) and I've checked them at least three times since the problem started. Alloy wheels can buckle? Oh dear, well perhaps I'll have to try replacing each with the spare redface

Cheers for the website, seems rather good.

Could be a tyre issue. I had a tyre go all out of shape once. It went like a 50p piece in shape on the inside edge. Bloody goodyear tyre as well.

Good idea to change wheels though or move it to the rear of the car.

Just checking in.

Toyota service manager said it runs fine and was surprised that the tracking was in such good order. (Apparently they're usually out significantly by service). Seems like it's something to do with the ride getting harsher as the tyres run lower on tread.

Still a lot to learn it would seem. The jump from bog standard Clio to Celica has been bigger than I thought! biggrin

(Swapping front <> back I suspect will solve it for now).

My Celica 190 felt horrible when the tread was low, and it felt much nicer when I replaced all the tyres at once.

It does sound like one of your wheels might be buckled though - sadly the wheels on Celicas (and it seems Toyotas in general) are quite 'soft' so do get damaged easily, especially with the state of some roads at the moment!
