So a few weeks back we stuck a few household items on a well-known classifieds website. Wasn't really looking to get rid of them, Just have no use for them so we thought whack em on cheap and see if we get a few quid. All items apart from one was sold and collected in a matter of hours (They was silly-cheap) Apart from one:

Original X-Box, 2 Controllers, 11 Games. Fully working (Used occasionally) £30 collected.

No one seemed to want it so back into the entertainment room it went. Until tonight, Someone e-mails asking if we'd take £25 and deliver it. If they'd offered to collect it then fine, whatever. But no, We're not particularly bothered about selling it and don't really need the money. Coupled with the fact that i can't really be bothered to leave the house to drop it off we turned it down... Then came the haggling... £25 + £3 Delivery.. £28 incl delivery (I'm sure this is the same as the offer we just turned down?)... £29.. on the condition that we deliver it tonight.

Seriously, £1. Thats what they're arguing over here.

Am i just being a bit silly in finding it a tad offensive they're refusing to pay the (Already quite low - could probably get more than that from Gamestation) asking price AND expecting me to leave the house at gone 8:30 at night and drive to a rather.. Undesirable area to drop it off (When delivery wasn't even offered in the first place! Plus, Pacific is on in half an hour.... grumble mumble..

Try to flip it back to them in the following manner...

Chav: Will you take £25?
You: No
Chav: £28?
You: Nope, price has gone up now to £35
Chav: What?! OK, £30.
You: Nope, £35.
Chav: OK OK!!!!! £35.
You: You had your chance. Now poke it, chavelina.

I remember when I was selling some cobra bucket seats. Had the pair of them up for £200. They would get this all day long but got a pair of chavs come over to see them and they start bartering. I said it was £200. They continue to offer less, with the difference reducing each time. I told them that it was £200 or no seats. They left saying they werent worth that, and were muttering other crap as they left, the gobby little things. Guess who rang the door bell 5 mins later. I really wanted to tell them that the price was now £210! hehe

Well they gave the Mrs. some sob story and she decided we was doing the deal. Just dropped it off, luckily they only lived a mile away or it'd of been a flat out no chance. They managed to 'scrape' together the full £30, in a twenty and a ten after all. Seriously, If they'd just of agree'd to the price 5 hours ago we could of saved ourselves some time and i wouldn't be having to rewind back to the start of The Pacific.

Damn soft-hearted women and their impeccable hold on my testicles.

could HAVE, and you know impeccable means 1 : not capable of sinning or liable to sin
2 : free from fault or blame : flawless, don't you?

I'd say she has a flawless hold on my testicles, like a vice that woman. She knows just the right amount of pressure for any given situation. Your welcome to come inspect and tell me which word you'd rather use though, I have a webcam so video conferencing is a possibilty if you don't fancy the travel. biggrin

You think that's bad?

I've tried to freecycle some bits and bobs - people ask you to deliver......

I've also tried to sell an anemone - was asked if I would deliver it to Brighton - About a four hour each way drive - and they were p****ed off when I said no!
