Track day and parts purchasing pain

How come my beemer has to start exhibiting cam chain death rattle three days before I do a trackday at Brands? And how come GSF don't sell the lower cam chain tensioner? And how come poo-ro car parts told me they have one and then actually supply me with the wrong one?

This won't be the first time I've lost money on a trackday that I've booked and not attended, its just a shame that this is only my third car day.

I've got tomorrow and Wednesday morning to locate, purchase and fit a lower cam chain tensioner for an E36 325i else I'll be throwing £150 down the drain.

Grrr.
