They've now got a stock of cars at their Edinburgh showroom now. Couple of Cerbs and a Tuscan which I saw on Sunday.

I visited their Porsche dealership a few months ago with my father and they were very friendly (more so than I expected, and much more so than many "major" dealers) and more than happy to chat about a few of the cars. Especially the GT3 that had just arrived.

Now that el Padre is seriously considering a porsche I'll drag him down there for a proper look.

Eh? No naming and shaming? As long as you're not just making things up to make someone look bad, where's the harm in stating facts?

The no naming and shaming rules were put in place by Ted to protect the PH site from being sued by libelled companies or individuals.

I'm not in a position to judge whether any bad experiences described by someone are accurate and fair or not. I therefore ask that people don't 'name and shame' in the forums.

It also creates a major headache for me if someone libels someone in our forums.

Can I "name and complement"?

I needed to get some clutch bits for the Porsche G50 box for my Ultima last autumn. The service manager and parts guy at Glenvarigill were both very helpful and sorted out the bits and even fitted the clutch release bearing to the clutch plate I already had for free. They even shimmed the clutch for the Porsche Turbo so it would have the higher clamping force to keep my torquey V8 in check. The prices were very reasonable compared with some of the parts suppliers I had tried down south thinking that a Porsche main dealer had to be expensive...

Hats off to them for sponsoring the new Glenvarigill Caterham Academy too. Probably still time to get a car and get it prepared for the start of the season on the 11th of April if anyone's interested...

Only downer I have on them is that Tim Bartlett (MD) sold his Porsche GT2 (a real one, as in raced at Le Mans) to fund their forays into the national GT series in a boring Ferarri 360. Meh.
