Can anyone tell me what 'real world' fuel consumption they are getting from a Fiesta ST.
Just recently bought a Focus ST170 and it is a disaster (especially on fuel), massively preferred my Puma, such a fun little car.
Thought I wanted a larger car, but I think I'd rather go back to something smaller and more communicative, are they reasonably fun to drive and are they really all that noisy ay motorway speeds?

I had a fiesta ST and loved it
I got 34mpg generally
I personally didn't find it that noisy on the motorway

Supposedly the fiesta is fractionally quicker but is just a lot of fun to drive, mainly down the B roads

Nope, incorrect. The Fiesta does handle better though.

Can't remember what MPG i got out of my ST170 but it was pretty awful anyway.I sold mine and went for a Clio 182 rather than the Fiesta, best move i ever made.

It is a tad noisey on the motorway if the radio isnt on. but only if you listen for it.

I get on average 30mpg, i have had 40mpg though on longer distances at a constant 70mph

The fiesta st is a much better car than the focus st170 imo, never owned either but have driven lots of each and I prefer the fiesta, although I'd still rather have my puma over a fiesta st....

Fiesta St much more fun to drive,I've driven both. ST170 needs a bit of hard work to get it to go,whereas the Fiesta ST has it all there ready waiting....But MPG wise I got 34mpg easily on a 30mile a day journey in mixed traffic conditions

St170 is a lot more thirsty than anything else at that power level but a very good car in its own right.

The Fiesta ST feels a little more sharp to turn in and more direct when you're in town but the Focus will flow much more effectively once up to speed and once you have the hang of the power delivery and how far you can take the chassis its addictive and more forgiving than the Fiestas. You also won't tire of the focus over rough roads where the fiesta can loosen fillings if youre driving over ste roads.

Then again the engine in the Focus has hardly any scope for upgrades with only 15-20 horses easily accesible, the Fiesta can easily be made to give 200ish in a lighter (slightly) body without going to forced induction.
