As people lose so much money when selling their car and then buying another one, is there any forum that anyone knows about where cars are offered for SWAPS?

I'm looking to swap my Porsche 996 Carrera 4 tiptronic (1999 model, with 142k miles on the clock, full Porsche main dealer history) for a large BMW/AUDI/MERC saloon - big engine, automatic and full service history and must be in excellent condition, fully loaded. Trade value of my car approx £12k.

So, any ideas??

What difference does it make? If your car is now worth £X, you'll only be able to swap it with someone with a car of similar value.

No, you could put cash their way or vice versa.

I was thinking exactly the same the other day, and there are some sites but they seem poor. And only ask what you're looking for, as opposed to what you have that people are looking for.

As I want to swap my big 5 series for a hot hatch biggrin

Brilliant idea!

And we could call it 'part-exchanging' or something.

You're on fire today, dude!

Very funny clown hehe

But I want to be able to search a list of people that want a E39. and then see what interesting stuff comes up.

Why doesn't that exist?

Are you seriously going to limit who buys your car, and the range of vehicles that you could buy, by wanting to swap it?!! Sell it, get the cash, add a bit if cash if needed, and buy another car.

It's a strange idea.

Its not. Swapping is likely to be easier than selling it private and sorts two people out as opposed to one.

What? So it's some exercise in philanthropy?!!!

If you can find someone who has the exact car that you want, and they want the exact car that you own, fair enough, but how often do you think that happens? That's why we have a currency....

No, but I like the the idea of some suggestions.

People put "W.H.Y" in px box for a reason, they are open to suggestion.
