Chaps

After having been investigating 4200s over the past couple of months and viewing and test driving a few cars, I went to see this car on Sunday.

It's exactly the car I am looking for, so I'm having a PPI done at the main agent while it is having it's annual service tomorrow.

I am very excited!

you've just linked to the homepage, we can't see which car you're talking about!

Very nice! God those are cracking deals now. I bought mine (was similar age to yours is now) at 32k miles. Mine was priced at £25k too (although I got it for less).

2 tips: buy yourself a TomTom as the SatNav is pants, and when your engine warning light comes on (and it will!), for god's sake don't take it to a dealer to be plugged in for error codes for £60 a pop. Just isolate the battery for 30s using the switch, then turn on again. The light will probably stay away (error code will be stored though). If it keeps coming on, then get it checked out. If anything is seriously wrong, you'll know about it anyway.

UPDATE

I picked the car up a couple of weeks ago now so thought I'd post up my findings so far.

I did test drive a few cars, but didn't remember the glorious rumble on start up. I expected the engine to be a bit more remote and insulated, you know when you need to look at the rev counter to see if the engine is tickling over, but this is fantastic!

CambioCorsa gearbox needs to be well warmed to get the best from it, but full bore up shifts over 4.5k rpm are very fast indeed, really impressive.

The exhaust feels as if it is really strangling the engine output. I'm going to investigate a secondary cat delete pipe as you don't need 4 cats surely!

MPG - averaging 15mpg in a mix of town and motorway driving at the moment. I did set cruise at 60mph and saw 25.6mpg on the trip computer and was quite impressed. TBH though I didn't really buy it do sit at 60 so will see what happens there.

Stereo is bloody awful, needs to be sorted.

Generally am loving it but not doing anywhere near enough miles. I need to find an excuse to get out a bit more.
