We should be more patriotic we live in a fantastic country only fooked up by politics. I would fly the Union Flag but!!!

Unfortunately the very symbol of Englishness has been forever hijacked by tatooed feckwit football chanting moronic hordes and halfwit mongoloid holidaymakers putting our country to shame.

MOST PATRIOTIC COUNTRIES IN EUROPE (level of patriotism marked out of 10)
Netherlands 7.18
Scotland 7.1
Wales 7.06
Italy 7.01
Ireland 6.72
Spain 6.57
France 6.44
Germany 5.81
England 5.80

Surely the Union flag would be for the UK, not just England?

There's the problem, you don't even know what it stands for!

i said this a while ago in another thread, but I am very proud of who I am, not where I'm from. I don't understand why patriotism is a desirable quality.

Isn't one half of your country basically not on speaking terms with the other half? I could see that affecting a patriotism test...

Von Rompuy made you all want to be Dutch/French instead, admit it biggrin
Haha Van Rompuy had nothing to do with THAT, the Wallons did that all by themselves hehe

Oh and we dont want to be Dutch/French, we want to be Flemish/French biggrin.

But I could forgive France for not wanting our French part.

Fly the Union Jack or the St George's Cross and you'll be branded a racialist...

Probably

+1 I do catch myself being a little patriotic about certain things at times, but try to suppress it as far as possible. Maybe it stems from the image of chanting hooligans, but the line between patriotism and xenophobic nationalism does get blurred and the two often go hand in hand. Hence I feel the need to not appear patriotic.
