Discussion
I am having problems uploading to my websites wirelessly from a laptop lets call it laptop1. I have good internet connection speeds 6.7Mbs download 374kbs upload. The same laptop uploaded the sites Ok via another router a few days ago.
so summary is
Laptop 1 uploads via ftp wirelessly via Router1 OK
Laptop1 unable to upload via ftp wirelessly via Router2
Laptop 1 uploads via Ethernet connected to Router2 OK
Laptop2 uploads wirelessly via Router1 and Router2 OK
The problem is how to upload wirelessly Laptop1 via Router2
I have disabled security software and also for a short time disabled Windows firewall to no avail
I have also tried 3 different ftp engines
Any suggestions...this is doing my head in!!!
Maybe this isn't the perfect answer, but can't you just upload it using the ethernet cable connection? Or maybe try a different router?
The reason I say this is that I used to have the same problem, with one of 5 identical routers (was the default gateway for our segment). Swapping to another router solved the problem. When we eventually replaced that router, I could do FTP via my default gateway again. It only seemed to affect FTP - everything else worked fine via the default gateway. Maybe the FTP protocol is more sensitive to signal drops?

Good call, possibly something to do with sustainable transfer rates? The reason I say this is that I used to have the same problem, with one of 5 identical routers (was the default gateway for our segment). I think you are possibly right, just I was becoming a little obsessional in getting the Laptop/router to do what it is supposed to, but as you quite rightly suggest I do have at least one alternative to solve my problem and in reality it is unlikely the website requires daily updatesThe reason I say this is that I used to have the same problem, with one of 5 identical routers (was the default gateway for our segment).
