Feels like a bit of a minefield; I'm currently with Swalec for both gas and electricity and feel my bills are a little on the high side. Can anyone recommend a good company to switch to?

Apparently for the period 12/1/10 - 14/4/10 I've used 1600 units @ 11.22p and a standing charge of 11.52p/day for 93 days. The bill is around £190 for that period. Could I be getting a better deal elsewhere? I don't want to jump ship and end up regretting it, so any personal experiences are welcomed!

I think I also need to look into where all my electricity gets used, are those monitors any use for tracking down 'thirsty' electrical devices?

Whoever you change to do it through quidco and take advantage of the cashback deals, I got £60 for changing so thats basically the first couple of months for free. No hastle to change couple of phonecalls and a month later ive changed.

Have a look on MoneySavingExpert and hit the utilities tab. Fill in some info and see how much is to be saved by changing suppliers.
Oh, and I have an Owl Energy Monitor purchased from Tesco. Surprising just how much energy is being wasted by things being left on standby, etc.
