Make sure you're fully insured for this and you have the requirments of first aid kit etc. for the countries you're travelling though and also make sure you take all your documentation (V5 etc.)

Thats brill, wish I'd get asked to do something like that!

Make sure you stick your a copy of your licence and insurance in the glovebox, and carry a hi-vis vest (can grab one form sports world or JJB or something) and spare bulbs in the car.

Make sure you stick some good CD's in the changer too!

2 day drive to Rome, avoid France (lovley m-ways but the tolls slow you down). Germany, fast....Switzerland, obey the speed limit because the fines are big, Italy fast! Try to avoid Milan tangenziale (ring road) during rush hour. The Alps are stunning to drive through, whichever route you choose.

It will be a great little adventure.

Language will be no problem any where through France, ignore the person saying go thought Germany, you can easily get to Geneva or further south from the UK in a day and the French Autoroutes are great, especially if someone else is picking up the bill for fuel and tolls. Stick below 100mph if you don't want to get in serious st.

Don't try reaching across at the tolls, just get out and walk round hehe

I popped to Reims at the weekend to rescue someone, I LOVE the french roads.

Get a Tom Tom europe and it'll take you all the way there easy.

I have two colleagues who have flown back from Dubai and are currently stranded in Rome. You don't want to earn some pocket money do you?

Surely them getting a hire car and then getting a boat across has to be cheaper than you driving?

You've got petrol, hire of a car, your time, and the wasted time for you going to spend a day picking them up?

Also what are the sort of H&S issues with asking someone to cover that distance over a short period of (was it) two days.

Have fun but tbh unless the company was providing a Jag or something big i really wouldnt see the attraction.

I've just driven back from Edinbugh down south and tbh i'm working from here till the planes are working as 6.30 hours in a car on the motorway isnt that fun.
