Ok, so I get my wireless network sorted out but now everytime I change a page on the net (i.e use the wireless network) I get a crackling noise coming from my speaker in my laptop.

I have muted them but it is not much better, is it my laptop or the equipment or is it one of those things that they all do?

Any ideas?

No, that should not happen. Sounds like either a fault in your laptop or the driver software for your sound card. Most likely a hardware fault, I'm afraid.

Sounds like the wireless causing interference / crosstalk on your speaker wires....

If it's a laptop then there is probably bugger all you can do about it

You do realise that you can have a sound associated with IE navigation? IIRC the default on 2000/XP is a sort of 'click' noise...

Bring up the volume mixer control by clicking on the speaker icon in your system tray (or from control panel if it's not in your system tray) and turn everything down to min. It may be that you've got a channel such as your CD audio volume turned up to max and it's being over-sensitive.
