im guessing this started life as a std VX as its had a Z20LET turbo engine fitted..

States not an insurance cat car. but doesnt mean its not been damage repaired ..

worth looking into but personally, i would steer clear.

Not categorised just means that it was so obviously a wreck that they didn't bother involving the insurer... or that someone was driving it third party only and put it in a tree... I'd run.

Guy trys to sell 'mint' vx220 vxr. Turns out its a cat D, then follows 20 pages of him denying it and 21 pages of people proving so with pictures of the damage, his ebay history buying up vx220 bits and the fact his brother owns a bodyshop.

Looks like a big mix match - but essentially a turbo engine dropped into an Na. so its probably priced about right, if not not a little too pricey for a 2001 Na.

Also has turbo front lights and clocks, although I'd be more inclined to put on the turbo ears and spoilers on as they may have more of an effect.

I'd stay well clear on the basis he has put a VXR badge on the dash/rear, a Lotus badge on the steering wheel and a nurburgring sticker on the rear. rolleyes

Oooooh! There's some cocks around!

I think I will steer well clear of this one, good point about the badging too! Such a shame, my dream car!!

I thought this was a legit sale when I saw it a few days ago... (legit but obviously not a real turbo)

In 2001 turbos were not being produced so it's basically just 2.2na model with modifications and a turbo engine dropped in could also easily be a cat c/d as these are usually more likely to be played with

It could just be cheap because of the engine change, and the fact that people are (rightly) very cautious means he can only hope of getting a low price.?
