Check this site for real time flights and the only ones over Southern England are at a high altitude coming from the East heading for the US.

In spite of my previous post I have just seen 3 passing overhead.

Checked on the web and 2 are heading to the US and the other to Mexico from Belgium, Netherlands and Germany

I live near Sywell airport which is essentially a field, so constantly see small planes like Cessna's flying about. Not seen a commercial jet for ages though.

I bet this whole volcano thing is a hoax by greenpeace or something, to try and reduce emissions
