We went onto price protection in 2006 so our energy prices are currently quite low in comparison to current prices.

This runs out soon. British Gas have offered us 2 more years protection but at 4% more than their current standard tariff.

Worth going for?

Not sure I want the faff of changing energy companies, especially if they all go up and down together.

+1

I am a bit worried about the huge impact going to the "real price" will cause.

They are a private company; they won't be offering you a deal that puts them out of pocket.

I think it is very much "roll the dice" right now.
