Restaurant in/near Beer, Devon

We're off for a long weekend down there, and though we're pretty good at finding good food, I'd be interested in any recommends. Going to be early evening dining I'm afraid, as we have a (well behaved) 9 month old in tow! Good quality and value rather than posh - the sort of place I might not find by pacing the main streets or browsing the tourist info.
