Right then, my roof is looking a little tired, I’ve checked the Renovo kits on the net, and although they look good (on their own site) they are fairly expensive and being a tight northerner I was wondering if there was anything else available that will do the job.

If anyone has used these kits, please let me know your thoughts.

I’m wanting to just wash, re-black and then re-proof the fecker.

I guess it’s a canvas roof – vx220?!? And there’s not a lot of it.

Cheers.

Not sure I'd want to try it on an expensive mohair hood but I've used shoe polish to good effect on vinyl hoods in the past!

Renovo stuff is absolutely brilliant and far better than the autoglym stuff I used to use. It's worth every penny and lasts longer. You probably won't need the full kit for your car as it doesn't have a vinyl screen, just the re-proofing liquid.

Thanks for that. Thinking more for the colouring stuff really. I didn't really look at what the full kit included.

Will have a proper look.

As for shoe polish, it had crossed my mind, but, only had the car a week and I'd rather not make it look crap.

You can use Fabsil or similar tent water-proofing products on the roof, that will water-proof and protect it. Not so sure about getting the colour back into it though, might need some sort of dye-ing.

I am ot convinced about renovo. On my fabric roof the dye made it nice and black but the waterproofer made the black fade back to grey.
