hey i am 15 now but 16 in july i was wondering if i am able to get a job with a racing team to learn the skill i will neeed once i have finshed my macanices collage corse

if your 16 and work for a racing team plz can u tell me wot team

i need a job asap

I'm glad you said finished, because I suspect passed would be a bit of a presumption on your part.

been involved in racing for a number of years now (either behind the wheel or behind a spanner)
only very few smaller teams will take on someone at your age or with your "level" of training.
most teams want someone with a proper qualification, or someone in the process of getting one..... although wheel washer dutys may be an option... lol

Edit: and btw to reply to your other question im currently working for Tollbar Racing, only part time as i am currently studying towards a degree in automotive enginering

At your age and level i think the best experience for you would be to spanner for someone at club level, asking around on club motorsport forums for someone localish could work. I doubt anyone will be wanting to pay you much though.

The main route in to professional motorsport is further education, a degree for the engineering side, i'm not sure what if its specifically the mechanics side.

i think you need to take a english class before you try a team.

Anyhow, just get every qualification you can in the right areas. look at local colleges who run courses.
I took 1 day out of high school a week and did 2 years of mechanics, finished school and did 2 full time mechanincs courses over 2 years.
So i have done 4 years of light vehicle mechanics and i am very confident in my abilities.
I also did photography, photoshop, comp maintenance as it was free due to age and makes my cv look better and shows an eagerness to learn.

This is what i did, i am not yet in a team but i am studying as a race technician at Silverstone circuit in sept. The tutors told me to get a GOOD cv together with as much about you and your passion on it and to go and knock on teams doors.

thanks mate i am leaving school on 25 of may this year and am then going into collage and doing the level 2 imi corse but at same time doing the mot corse with mr clutch cuto centers but i was wondering if there was a time in kent that take me on for light work becuase i really into learning how a motorsprot team works

Why ask me? Go and ask them! Its the easiest way to get in.

You'll need to know a lot more than you'll get from the courses and work experience you've been doing and will be doing. As has been said, contact some club racers and see if they'll let you give them a hand on race weekends. Although it'll be unpaid it's a good way of making contacts.

Motorsport really has to ways to get in.

1. Lots of money or a dad who has lots

2. Make your name known by setting your own path.

Sorry to single you out, but why the negativity?

It's this attitude towards youngsters that contributes and propells the "screw it" maintallity in a lot of them. As most of us are more than likely older, more experiences peoples, should we not be encouraging this lad and trying to help him out?

I was proactive at 16. I made the effort to ensure it was half correct when asking for help from people. I would make extra effort when the people I am trying to impress may be members on this forum.

People should not be leaving school like this.
