I remember this racing at york. I sure it never ran 12s though! Good first car for someone.

I know the lads that used to run it at york and im sure it only ran 14s. If it ran faster it will of been no quicker than mid to late 13s.

A friend of mine has an SD1. His dad used to run it in the Rover Challenge, when it was running 13s. Since then, it received a bigger engine and a blower, but sadly his dad died before he got to run it, and it hasn't seen the track for the better part of a decade. I think they were aiming for 10s or 11s. I keep trying to persuade him to let me have a go in it...

I watched it race through 2008.
Was running mid to high 14's.

I must get mine sorted and back on track someday. Gotta sort the TVR first tho

Didn't the later Vitesses run 15s in stock trim? I would have thought a diet would make a 14 second car out of a stocker without spending anything else!

The Vitesse was quoted at 190 bhp but rarely had over 170. A good 1 would run into the 15s no problem.
20 years ago (ouch) i took my SD1 to York and ran low 15's and a best of 15.0 @ 104 always struggling for grip on cheap tyres. All my car had was a 'fast road' cam, home porting job on the cylinder heads, home made exhaust and a few tweeks to the SUs and ignition.
